Our Venue

La Peña Cultural Center is a vibrant non-profit community cultural center that was founded in 1975 in the Ashby neighborhood of Berkeley, California by two Chilean expatriates.  It is home to a wide variety of social justice organizing, music, dancing, performance, classes, and other cultural events.  We are lucky to call it home for our weekly dance, Beat the Blues.

The center is less than a 5 minute walk from Ashby BART station, and there is usually parking to be found on the side streets.  If you are walking to and from BART late at night, we recommend that you travel in groups.  If you are driving, please remember to not leave valuables in your vehicle.
